The revision of the IRRDB Constitution was intended to
make it simpler for organizations which are interested in
natural rubber production to become involved although they
may lack the resources for full membership. Somewhat disappointingly
this category has still to attract its first entrant, although
quite clearly not all natural rubber producing countries
are able to support the research facilities on which IRRDB
Membership is normally based. The IRRDB Secretariat would
welcome enquiries from any appropriate organizations within
its "non-member countries". There is known to
be natural rubber production in Bangladesh, Ghana, Peru
and East Africa for instance, where the cultivators would
gain from access to both the formal and informal channels
of information provided through the IRRDB.
