The estate sector is declining in importance in Malaysia and
Indonesia, and has never been a major factor in natural rubber
cultivation in Thailand or India. Michelin and Firestone,
the latter in Liberia, maintain some interests in rubber estates.
In China much of the natural rubber is produced on collective
farms. |
